Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "And as for prohibition from the perspective of the request: it is sometimes because it is supplication to other than Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "And as for prohibition from the perspective of the request: it is sometimes because it is supplication to other than Allah, such as: what sorcerers do in addressing the stars and worshipping them and the like, for it may necessitate following that various types of divine decree"

The Shaykh : In our copy: it may be decreed.
The reader: Correction, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is correct.
The reader: For it may be decreed various types of divine decree.

The Shaykh : Various types.
The student: ... following that

The Shaykh : Following that means following their supplication, they supplicate to the stars and their need is fulfilled.
The reader: "For it may be decreed following that various types of divine decree if not opposed by an opposing factor, from the supplication of the people of faith and their worship, or otherwise, for this reason these matters are carried out in the times of the absence of the messengers, and in the lands of disbelief and hypocrisy, in ways that are not carried out in the abode of faith and its time.
And from this: I know men who seek aid from some of the living in hardships that befall them, and their distress is relieved, and they may witness matters, while that living person from whom aid was sought did not become aware of it, nor did he know of it at all, and among them are those who curse people, or direct harm toward them, and they see some of the living or some of the dead intervening between them and harming those people, and they may see him striking him with a sword, even though the intervener has no awareness of it, rather that is from the action of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, by a cause that exists between the intended target and the man who repels it, from his followers, and his obedience in what he commands of obedience to Allah, and the like. This is close.
Sometimes, as a trial from Allah, some of the forbidden type of food may be served to the worshippers of idols.

The Shaykh : A trial
The reader: "And sometimes, for the worshippers of idols, there occurs from the forbidden type, a trial from Allah, by what the devils do for their helpers, if the effect may occur".

The Shaykh : It has occurred
The reader: Did you hear?

The Shaykh : It has occurred, manuscript?
The reader: No, I do not have a manuscript.

The Shaykh : It happens.
The student: He read a trial from Allah

The Shaykh : And in our copy a trial
The student: From the forbidden type what they think is a trial

The Shaykh : We do not have what they think.
The reader: He says in the printed edition he added: what they think that, in the printed edition.

The Shaykh : Very well.
The reader: "And sometimes, for the worshippers of idols, there occurs from the forbidden type a trial from Allah by what the devils do for their helpers, if the effect may occur following the supplication of one whom we are certain did not hear the supplication, how is it imagined that he is the one who caused it, or that he has an action in it? And if it is said: Allah does it by that cause, then if the cause is forbidden, it is not permissible, like the diseases that Allah brings about following the eating of poisons, and the forbidden supplication in itself may be supplication to other than Allah, and that he supplicates to Allah, as the Christians say: O Mother of the Deity, intercede for us to the Deity. And it may be".
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Raise your voice.
The student: And that he supplicates to Allah seeking intercession from other than Him
The reader: Also from the printed edition, as he indicated in the manuscript here.

The Shaykh : As if the printed edition has no value to you?
The reader: The handwritten manuscripts are the original, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes, there is no doubt. Yes.
The reader: "And it may be supplication to Allah, but seeking nearness to Him by what is not obligatory to seek nearness by, like the polytheists who".

The Shaykh : By what He does not love.
The reader: "But seeking nearness to Him by what He does not love to be sought nearness by, like the polytheists who seek nearness to Allah by their idols, and it may be supplication to Allah with words that are not suitable to address Allah with, and to supplicate with, because of the transgression in that. These supplications and the like, even if the owner may sometimes achieve his goal, are forbidden because of the corruption in them which exceeds its benefit, as mentioned before".
The reader: He said in my copy: in the printed edition it is yarbū.
"For this reason, these were a trial for those whom Allah did not guide, and did not illuminate their hearts, and did not distinguish between the matter of creation and the matter of legislation, and did not distinguish between the divine decree and the Shari'ah, and did not know that the categories are three: matters that".

The Shaykh : It ended, it ended.
