Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "Then, the reason for the fulfillment of the needs of some of these supplicants through forbidden supplications

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "Then, the reason for the fulfillment of the needs of some of these supplicants and the forbidden supplications"

The Shaykh : The supplicants?
The reader: With the supplications? The supplications.

The Shaykh : The supplications. Yes.
The reader: "Then, the reason for the fulfillment of the needs of some of these supplicants through the forbidden supplications is that one of them may be in a state of dire necessity such that if he were to supplicate to Allah with it as a polytheist at an idol, it would be answered, due to the sincerity of his turning to Allah, even though seeking to supplicate at an idol is shirk (associating partners with Allah)".

The Shaykh : Even though.
The reader: Even though seeking to supplicate.

The Shaykh : To supplicate.
The reader: "Even though seeking to supplicate at an idol is shirk (associating partners with Allah), and if it were answered through the intercession of the one he sought nearness to, the owner of the grave or otherwise, because of his calling for aid"

The Shaykh : In your copy, "and if it were answered," or "and if it had been answered"?
The student: And if it had been answered for him.

The Shaykh : In my copy, "and if it had been answered."
The reader: In copy B, it says: "And if it had been answered for him."

The Shaykh : Good, if Allah wills, that works.
The reader: "And if it were answered through the intercession of the one he sought nearness to, the owner of the grave or otherwise, because of his calling for aid, he would be punished for it and cast into the Fire, unless Allah forgives him, just as if he asked Allah for something that would be a trial for him.
Similarly, when Thalabah asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to supplicate for him for an abundance of wealth, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from doing so repeatedly until he did not stop, so he supplicated for him, and that became the cause of his misery in this world and the Hereafter"
.

The Shaykh : The cause.
The reader: "And that became the cause of his misery in this world and the Hereafter. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said".

The Shaykh : The hadith of Thalabah is not authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), because it contradicts the Qur'an, for the man repented and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr, and 'Umar, and I think 'Uthman, and they turned him away, and this contradicts the Qur'an, for Allah said:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins قل يا عبادي الذين أسرفوا على أنفسهم لا تقنطوا من رحمة الله إن الله يغفر الذنوب جميعاً
[Az-Zumar 39:53]
And it is established from the hadith perspective that it is not authentic, yes, and I do not know if he came to the Messenger or not? I forgot, does any of you remember?
The student: Yes, he came.

The Shaykh : He came to the Messenger? Yes.
The reader: "And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A man may ask me for a matter, and I give it to him, and he goes out carrying it as a fire, so they said: O Messenger of Allah, why do you give it to them? He said: They refuse but to ask me, and Allah refuses for me to be stingy
"
.

The Shaykh : May Allah send prayers and peace upon him.
The reader: "So how many a servant has supplicated with a supplication that is not permissible, and his need was fulfilled in that supplication, and it became the cause of his destruction in this world and the Hereafter, sometimes by asking for something that is not fitting for him to ask for, as Bal'am and Thalabah did, and as many people have supplicated for things that were granted to them, and in them was their destruction.
And sometimes by asking in a manner that Allah does not love, as He the Exalted said:
Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.
[Al-A'raf 7:55]
So He the Exalted does not love transgressors in the manner of supplication, nor in what is asked for, even if their need is fulfilled, like those who spoke to Allah in their supplications with a manner of speaking that involved boldness toward Allah and transgression of His limits, and they were given their request as a trial and what He the Exalted wills.
Or even worse than that, do you not see that sorcery, talismans, the evil eye, and other such influences in the world, by the permission of Allah, may fulfill many of the desires of souls, and yet He the Exalted said:
But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew. (103) And if they had believed and feared Allah, then the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew.
[Al-Baqarah 2:102-103]
"

The Shaykh : Good, stop there.
The reciter:
And if they had believed and feared Allah, then the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew.
[Al-Baqarah 2:103]
.

The Shaykh : Such things occur frequently in the Qur'an, so one must pause over them, because if you reached
the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew.
[Al-Baqarah 2:103]
, the restriction of it being good would be by what? By their knowledge, and this is not intended.
