And that the best of them is Muhammad, then Ibrahim, then Musa, then Nuh and Isa ibn Maryam, and they are the ones specified in the saying of Allah the Exalted
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And that the best of them is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)", and so it is. The best of the prophets is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), because he is their seal, because he has the most followers, because the Book revealed to him is the greatest of the Books, and for many other reasons.
And what indicates this is that when he was taken up, yes, when he was ascended, or when he was taken by night to the Sacred Mosque, who was the imam? The imam was Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and this indicates that he is the best of them, for the one who leads the people is the most pious among them and the most noble in the sight of Allah. On the Day of Resurrection, the people will come to the prophets, the greatest of the prophets, seeking intercession, until it reaches whom? It reaches the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and this indicates that he (peace and blessings be upon him) is the best of the messengers, after him is Ibrahim.
If someone were to say: How do you say that, or how is that, because I did not say it, how is that when Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nahl 16:123], and it is known that the follower is of a lower rank than the one followed?
It is said: Here there is no ranking, because the two are one, and that is tawhid (the oneness of Allah), but Ibrahim was mentioned because the Jews say: We are more deserving of Ibrahim, and the Christians say: We are more deserving of Ibrahim, and the Arabs say: We are the followers of Ibrahim, so Allah said to him:[An-Nahl 16:123], and on this basis, whoever opposes the guidance of the Messenger has opposed the guidance of Ibrahim, so in that is the establishment of the argument against the one who says: He is more deserving of Ibrahim than Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). For this reason, Allah the Mighty and Majestic stated that explicitly in Al-Imran: [Ali 'Imran 3:68] from whom? [Ali 'Imran 3:68] and those who followed him, when? In the time of his mission, but after the sending of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), the people most deserving of Ibrahim are Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.
The author says: "Then Ibrahim, then Musa, then Nuh and Isa ibn Maryam".
The author mentioned the first three with "thumma" (then), which indicates what? It indicates order, and he mentioned the fourth and fifth with "wa" (and), because there was no clear evidence that Isa is better than Nuh, or Nuh is better than Isa, there is no clear evidence, so some of the scholars placed Nuh first, because he stayed with his people for a thousand years calling them to Allah the Exalted, and he said:[Nuh 71:7] what? [Nuh 71:7] and they threatened him, and they said: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:116] they harmed him with great harm,
and they would pass by him while he was building the ship by the command of Allah, and they would mock him, this one threatens us that we will drown and he will be saved by his ship! They would mock him, but Allah said to him:[Hud 11:38] he said: [Hud 11:38-39] and Allah knows best.
The student: Shaykh.
The Shaykh : Yes.
The reader: "For the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Ash-Shuraa 42:13] and we believe that all the messengers are created human beings, they have nothing of the attributes of lordship. Allah the Exalted said about Nuh, who is the first of them: [Hud 11:31]. And Allah the Exalted commanded Muhammad, who is the last of them, to say: [Hud 11:31]".
The Shaykh : And not? What?
The student:[Hud 11:31].
The Shaykh :. It is missing from the manuscript.
The student: And that he says:[Al-A'raf 7:188], and that he says: [Al-Jinn 72:21-22].
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and all his Companions.
We have previously stated that we believe in the messengers whom Allah the Exalted sent as bringers of good news and warners, and as establishing the argument against the people, and we believe that the first of them is Nuh and the last is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and we believe that they differ in excellence, some of them being better than others, for the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:253], and we believe that the best of them is Muhammad, then Ibrahim, then Musa, then Isa and Nuh, and that these are the ones of firm resolve about whom Allah said to His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): [Al-Ahqaf 46:35].
If someone were to say: How do you say that, or how is that, because I did not say it, how is that when Allah the Exalted said:
Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham
ثم أوحينا إليك أن اتبع ملة إبراهيمIt is said: Here there is no ranking, because the two are one, and that is tawhid (the oneness of Allah), but Ibrahim was mentioned because the Jews say: We are more deserving of Ibrahim, and the Christians say: We are more deserving of Ibrahim, and the Arabs say: We are the followers of Ibrahim, so Allah said to him:
Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham
ثم أوحينا إليك أن اتبع ملة إبراهيمIndeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people
إن أولى الناس بإبراهيمthose who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]
للذين اتبعوه وهذا النبي والذين آمنواThe author says: "Then Ibrahim, then Musa, then Nuh and Isa ibn Maryam".
The author mentioned the first three with "thumma" (then), which indicates what? every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears
كلما دعوتهم لتغفر لهم جعلوا أصابعهم في آذانهمcovered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.
واستغشوا ثيابهم وأصروا واستكبروا استكباراIf you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."
لئن لم تنته يا نوح لتكونن من المرجومينand they would pass by him while he was building the ship by the command of Allah, and they would mock him, this one threatens us that we will drown and he will be saved by his ship! They would mock him, but Allah said to him:
If you ridicule us
إن تسخروا مناIf you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule. (39) And you are going to know who will get a punishment that will disgrace him
إن تسخروا منا فإنا نسخر منكم كما تسخرون فسوف تعلمون من يأتيه عذاب يخزيهThe student: Shaykh.
The Shaykh : Yes.
The reader: "For the saying of Allah the Exalted:
He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein
شرع لكم من الدين ما وصى به نوحا والذي أوحينا إليك وما ويصينا به إبراهيم وموسى وعيسى أن أقيموا الدين ولا تتفرقوا فيهAnd I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel

The student:

I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed
لا أملك لنفسي نفعا ولا ضرا إلا ما شاء الله(21) Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction." (22) Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge.
