The Shaykh : the truth and silencing his people, but out of his perfect good manners, he offers an excuse for this.
They come to Moses. Why? Because he is the best of the prophets of the Children of Israel. So they come to him, and he offers an excuse. What is it? That he killed a soul without being commanded to kill it, and that was the Egyptian. For he went out one day and found two men fighting, one from his party from the Children of Israel and the other from his enemy from the Egyptians[Al-Qasas 28:15] Yes? , and he was not commanded to kill him, so he offers this excuse.
Then they come to Jesus (peace be upon him), the last of the prophets before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He does not offer an excuse; he does not mention a sin. But he directs or refers the people to one who is better. He says: Go to Muhammad, the servant whom Allah has forgiven what came before of his sin and what came after.
If you say: Why did not Allah (Mighty and Majestic) put it in the hearts of these people to go to Muhammad from the very beginning?
The answer is: So that the virtue of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) becomes clear. And this is from the Praiseworthy Station about which Allah said:[Al-Isra 17:79] This is what has become apparent to us, and there may be a wisdom greater than this. He says: All right.
He says: "until it reaches him" To whom? To the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So he says: I will take it on. Then he stands and asks permission from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and He grants him permission. He prostrates beneath the Throne, and Allah opens to him of the praises and commendation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) what He had not opened to him before. Then He says to him:Mishkat al-Masabih 5573. So he intercedes for the people of the standing place, and Allah (Mighty and Majestic) descends to judge between His servants.
This great intercession will never be for anyone except for whom? For the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). And it is the greatest of intercessions, because in it is the relief of the people from this great standing place and the distress and grief. Look, the people are now going to all these noble messengers, to Adam who is a prophet, to Noah who is a messenger, to Abraham who is the best of the messengers after Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), to Moses, to Jesus.
All the messengers mentioned in the hadith of intercession are from the resolute ones. End of quote.
The student: Except Adam.
The Shaykh : Adam is not a messenger; Adam is a prophet. Yes, all the messengers that were mentioned, all of them are the resolute ones. And Allah the Exalted mentioned them in two places in the Qur'an: in Surat al-Ahzab, and in Surat al-Shura.
In Surat al-Ahzab:[Al-Ahzab 33:7].
And in al-Shura:[Ash-Shuraa 42:13]. And Allah knows best. We stop here.

That he killed a soul without being commanded to kill it, and that was the Egyptian. For he went out one day and found two men fighting, one from his party from the Children of Israel and the other from his enemy from the Egyptians
the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy
فاستغاثه الذي من شيعته على الذي من عدوهAnd Moses struck him and killed him
فوكزه موسى فقضى عليهThen they come to Jesus (peace be upon him), the last of the prophets before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
And this is from the Praiseworthy Station about which Allah said:
it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.
عسى أن يبعثك ربك مقاما محموداHe says: "until it reaches him" To whom? To the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So he says: I will take it on. Then he stands and asks permission from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and He grants him permission. He prostrates beneath the Throne, and Allah opens to him of the praises and commendation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) what He had not opened to him before. Then He says to him:
He reported God's messenger as saying, "When the day of resurrection comes mankind will be in confusion and will go to Adam and say, `Intercede with your Lord,' and he will reply, `I am not capable, but go to Abraham, for he is the friend of the Compassionate One.' They will go to Abraham and he will say, `I am not capable, but go to Moses, for he is God's interlocutor.' They will then go to Moses and he will say, `I am not capable, but go to Jesus, for he is God's spirit and word.' They will then go to Jesus and he will say, `I am not capable, but go to Muhammad.' Then they will come to me and, saying I am capable, I shall ask permission to enter my Lord's presence. When this is granted He will teach me certain utterances of praise which I do not know at present, and I shall use them and fall down prostrating myself. Then will be said, `Raise your head, Muhammad. If you speak you will be listened to, if you make a request it will be granted, and if you make intercession it will be accepted." I shall then say, `0 my Lord, my people, my people,' and shall be told to go away and bring forth from hell those in whose hearts there is as much faith as a grain of barley. I shall go and do so, after which I shall return and use those utterances of praise, then fall down prostrating myself Then will be said, `Raise your head, Muhammad. If you speak you will be listened to, if you make a request it will be granted, and if you make intercession it will be accepted.' I shall then say, `0 my Lord, my people, my people,' and shall be told to go away and bring forth from hell those in whose hearts there is as much faith as a mote or a grain of mustard-seed. I shall go and do so, after which I shall return and use those utterances of praise, then fall down prostrating myself. Then will be said, `Raise your head, Muhammad. If you speak you will be listened to, if you make a request it will be granted, and if you make intercession it will be accepted.' I shall then say, `0 my Lord, my people, my people, and shall be told to go away and bring forth from hell those in whose hearts there is as much faith as the smallest smallest, smallest grain of mustard-seed. I shall go and do so, after which I shall return a fourth time and use those utterances of praise then fall down prostrating myself. Then will be said, `Raise your head, Muhammad. If you speak you will be listened to, if you make a request it will be granted, arid if you make intercession it will be accepted.' I shall then say, `0 my Lord, grant me permission regard - ing those who have said there is no god but God,' and He will reply, `You have no business with this, but by my might, glory, pride and greatness, I will certainly bring out of it those who have said there is no god but God'." (Bukhari and Muslim.)
