Chapter on the Description of Prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on the Description of Prayer", meaning its verbal and physical form. The scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) established a chapter on the description of prayer, a chapter on the description of Hajj, a chapter on fasting, and a chapter on zakah, because worship is not valid except with two conditions: the first is sincerity for Allah, and the second is following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). However, regarding following him, if we know how he did it, that is one thing; but if we guess and act, it is not valid. Thus, it becomes clear that a person must know the description of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) prayer so that he prays as he prayed, especially since he said:
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers صلّوا كما رأيتموني أصلّي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
And thus, we take the description of prayer from the Sunnah, and we seek assistance in this through what the people of knowledge (may Allah have mercy on them) wrote in the books of Islamic jurisprudence.
The author began with a hadith that should be a foundation for the topic, which is the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): "That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cae out from the toilet and some food was brought to him. They said: 'Shall we bring you some water for Wudu'?' He said: 'I have only been ordered to perform Wudu' when standing for Salat.'" [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan [Sahih]. 'Amr bin Dinar has reported it from Sa'eed bin Al-Huwairith, from Ibn 'Abbas. 'Ali bin Al-Madini said: 'Sufyan Ath-Thawri disliked washing the hands before eating food, and he disliked placing the bread under the bowl.'" إذا قمت إلى الصّلاة ...
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1847Sahih (Darussalam)
to the end of it"
. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) abbreviates the hadiths and does not bring anything except the corroborating part. I wish he had not done this, because this hadith has a story that should be narrated as it is, from its beginning to its end, and because what he omitted contains many benefits. But the answer to this is that the author intended for this book to be an abridged one. Yes, Muhammad?
