The questioner : May Allah reward you! I say regarding the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
And one should not urge somebody to return the goods to the seller so as to sell him his own goods ولا يبيع الرجل على بيع أخيه
Sahih al-Bukhari 2140
, or a lease. For example, I came from outside and I do not have a building to lease, but I come to you for this man and say: “I have a building that is more beautiful and wider than this one.” I mean, I am not the owner; I do not want to benefit myself, but I want to benefit my companion. So I say: “Its rent is eight, and I have an apartment better than this one for five.”

The Shaykh : It is not permissible, even if you are not benefiting yourself.

The questioner : I am outside of both.

The Shaykh : Even if you are outside, this is not permissible; it is not allowed.
