Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Yes, it comes with a context, such as His saying:
And the earthquake took them فأخذتهم
They destroyed them... In any case, their seizing of the prophets may be to imprison them, as in His saying:
And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you وإذ يمكر به الذين كفروا ليثبتوك أو يقتلوك أو يخرجوك
[Al-Anfal 8:30]
to imprison you, meaning they would confine you so that you would be fixed in a place you cannot leave, or they would kill you, which is clear, or they would expel you from the land...
“To seize him” is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
killed the prophets without right ويقتلون الأنبياء بغير حق
[Ali 'Imran 3:112]
and His saying:
And the earthquake took them فأخذتهم
Thus, their destruction is in response to what they intended to do to the messengers, namely their destruction. Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) not intend to kill him? Yes. Do you know what Shaykh al-Najdi suggested to them? He said: You cannot kill a Qurayshi unless you have ten strong young men, and you give each of them a sword. When Muhammad comes out, let one man strike him with a single blow so that his blood is dispersed among the tribes, and thus Quraysh will not be able to demand blood money, and they will be forced to accept the taking of the blood money. Do you understand? Did they intend to kill him or not? They intended to kill him. And the Jews intended to kill him in the story of Banu Nadir.
