Continuation of the benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Our Lord, and admit them into the Gardens of Eden which You have promised them, and among their parents, their spouses, and their descendants, whoever has done right. Indeed, You are the Mighty, the Wise.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
An explanation of the favor of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) toward the people of Paradise, first and last. First, by promising them Paradise, for the promise of Paradise necessitates working for it. Second, by admitting them into it.
And among the benefits of the noble verse is that the completion of bliss is for Allah to gather a person with his relatives and his spouses, as He said:
admit them to gardens of perpetual residence which You have promised them and whoever was righteous among their fathers
[Ghafir 40:8]
and so on.
If someone were to ask: Does this necessitate that they be in the same rank? We say: It does not necessitate that. However, the spouses must be in the rank of their spouses. As for the descendants, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) mentioned in Surat al-Tur that they are in the rank of their parents as well. Allah the Exalted said:
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds
[At-Tur 52:21]
This indicates that the descendants who have not reached the ranks of their parents are raised until they are in the ranks of their parents. And this does not necessitate a reduction in the ranks of the parents. That is, we do not say that the solution is a middle ground where we raise these a little and lower those a little. Therefore, He said:
and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds
[At-Tur 52:21]
so that the one who thinks might not assume that if the descendants are raised, they are raised a little and the parents are lowered by the amount these were raised, so that they meet at a middle point. This is not the case, because if the parents were lowered a little, it would necessitate that they be diminished. But Allah says:
And We did not diminish them وما ألتناهم
meaning: We did not diminish them, meaning: the parents
of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.
[At-Tur 52:21]
.
And among the benefits of the noble verse is being cautious in supplication against generalization, due to their saying:
with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses
[Ar-Ra'd 13:23]
And among that is the saying of Ibrahim (peace be upon him):
And provide sustenance for his family
meaning the people of the Sacred Mosque
with fruits - whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day
[Al-Baqarah 2:126]
his family, then he replaced it with his saying:
whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day
[Al-Baqarah 2:126]
so he was cautious. But Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever disbelieves
meaning: Provide sustenance for those in this land, even if they are disbelievers. But:
And whoever disbelieves - I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination." ومن كفر فأمتعه قليلا ثم اضطره إلى عذاب النار وبئس المصير
[Al-Baqarah 2:126]
The important point is that a person should be cautious in supplication against generalization that may include those who do not deserve the supplication, in which case this would be a type of transgression in his supplication.
And among the benefits of the noble verse is affirming these two names, namely al-Aziz (the Mighty) and al-Hakim (the Wise), from the names of Allah, and affirming what they contain of description or attribute. Al-Aziz contains might, and al-Hakim contains wisdom and judgment.
And among the benefits of the verse is seeking nearness to Allah the Exalted in supplication through His names.
If someone were to ask: You mentioned in several places that seeking nearness through names should correspond to the question or the one being asked. Here, what is the correspondence of might and wisdom to the supplication for admitting these people to Paradise? It appears, and Allah knows best, that the correspondence is that they supplicated for Allah to admit those among their parents, spouses, and descendants who have done right. This is a matter that requires might and complete authority, and judgment and wisdom. Therefore, they concluded this supplication with His saying:
Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise." إنك أنت العزيز الحكيم
[Al-Baqarah 2:129]
without saying “You are the Owner of the Great Favor.”
And among the benefits of this verse is the existential order in things. In what? Their parents, their spouses, and their descendants. This is the order: father, then marriage, then descendants. This is an existential order, and there is no doubt that this is among the excellences of the wording.
