Continuation of the benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Thus He reveals to you and to those before you [is] Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His might and His dominance are based on wisdom. The might of a created being may lead it to act foolishly, as in the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah," pride in the sin takes hold of him. وإذا قيل له اتق الله أخذته العزة بالإثم
[Al-Baqarah 2:206]
Here, he had might, but it did not benefit him because it was not accompanied by wisdom. Likewise, the wisdom of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is accompanied by His might, because a wise person may be weak and lack dominance, causing him to miss out on much and to lack decisiveness because he says that that is wisdom. But the wisdom of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is accompanied by His might. For this reason, we now benefit from pairing some of the names with others; by doing so, we gain a meaning in addition to what we gain from the name alone.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is that the laws revealed to the Messenger are might and wisdom. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers ولله العزة ولرسوله وللمؤمنين
[Al-Munafiqun 63:8]
And Allah the Exalted said:
And Allah has revealed to you the Book and wisdom وأنزل الله عليك الكتاب والحكمة
[An-Nisa 4:113]
So whoever holds fast to these laws attains both matters, namely might and wisdom, and also the ruling.
