Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: ((And he who believed said, "O my people, I fear for you something like the Day of the Parties")) meaning a day of one party after another.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Then he said:
And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you وقال الذي آمن يا قوم إني أخاف عليكم ...
[Ghafir 40:30]
In the first instance, it said, "A believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith," and here it said, "And he who believed said." So we ask, why was this description repeated for this man? Because of the length of the discourse and the separation, he said:
And he who believed said وقال الذي آمن
[Ghafir 40:30]
As for the difference between the two sentences, the second confirms the first by indicating that this man has been dyed with faith and has realized faith.
And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies - وقال الذي آمن يا قوم إني أخاف عليكم مثل يوم الأحزاب
[Ghafir 40:30]
"O my people": This refers to Pharaoh and his people, and this is a form of softening in speech.
indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies - إني أخاف عليكم مثل يوم الأحزاب
[Ghafir 40:30]
It means the previous groups, and it is as if this inspired man had knowledge of the conditions of the previous nations. The discussion of the benefit of this sentence will come, if Allah wills.
"
like the day of the companies - مثل يوم الأحزاب
[Ghafir 40:30]
meaning a day of one party after another "
