regarding the ruling on a man marrying a woman who is not righteous, while he hopes she will become righteous.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: ... What if the situation were reversed, and a man wanted to marry a woman who is not upright, and he said: "Perhaps Allah will guide her through me?"

The Shaykh : It is the same thing. A person may have a firm resolve at the beginning, but if he marries her and desires her, it will shake him. The attraction of women to men is not easy. The word "hope" is not actually applicable in this case. Therefore, you are only accountable for what is before you. Even if things do not turn out as expected later, you have exerted your effort, and there is no blame on you and no sin on you. However, you are sinful for proceeding with something you know is currently not righteous, merely hoping that it will become righteous. This is an error.
A woman may overpower a man. If he loves her intensely, she might say to him, "Prostrate to me," and he would say, "You are greater." Did you not know that one of the scholars mentioned that a muezzin was cursed by his mother with a curse? He was a righteous man. When he climbed the minaret to call the adhan, he saw a beautiful Christian woman on the roof of her house. She captivated him, so he sent a proposal to marry her. She said, "It is not possible unless you become a Christian." He tried, but she said, "Absolutely not." So he became a Christian, may Allah protect us from that. He became a Christian and apostatized from Islam. Then he renewed the proposal, and she said, "Now you are neither a Muslim nor a Christian, so I am not lawful to you." This man, may Allah grant us safety, apostatized from his religion for the sake of this woman. And this woman’s cunning was greater than his; she said to him, "You are neither a Muslim nor a Christian, and a Christian woman is not lawful except to a Muslim or a Christian. Go back." May Allah grant us safety.
