The Shaykh : I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows, ويوم يحشر أعداء الله إلى النار فهم يوزعون
[Fussilat 41:19]
In His saying, the Exalted:
And the Day when they are gathered ويوم يُحشَر
The grammatical analysis is that
A dayيوم
is a circumstantial phrase, and every circumstantial phrase must have a governing word, because the circumstantial phrase is a passive noun, so it requires a verb. For this reason, the author of the poem on sentences said:
A preposition must be connected to a verb or its meaning, like "ascending"
So where is the agent in
A dayيوم
? The agent in
A dayيوم
is omitted; the implied meaning is: as the author said: "
Andو
Remember
the Day when the enemies of Allah يوم يُحشَرُ أعداءُ الله
[Fussilat 41:19]
"
and
are gatheredيُحشَر
means to be gathered and driven, and there are two readings: " with the yaa and the open noon, and the shaddah on the shiin and the fathah on the hamzah " The author did not actually complete the second reading; two readings are included in it: the first is with the dammah on the yaa and the fathah on the shiin
are gatheredيُحشَر
and according to this reading,
enemiesأعداء
must be in the nominative case as a substitute for the agent. The second reading is with the fathah on the noon, nahshur, and the dammah on the shiin, and according to this reading,
enemiesأعداء
must be in the accusative case as a direct object.
And the Day when We gather the enemies of Allah ويوم نَحشُر أعداءَ الله
, and here we ask: are the two readings that are in the Qur'an in our hands the seven letters or others? The answer is that they are other than the seven letters. The seven letters are now unknown, because they were concluded by the unification of the Mushaf in the time of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). But the seven readings that exist in one letter, which is the letter of Quraysh upon which the Mushafs were unified in the time of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and therefore there is no need to search and dig for the seven letters in our time, because they have ended and were concluded. He said:
And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows, ويوم يُحشَرُ أعداءُ الله إلى النار فهم يوزعون
[Fussilat 41:19]
So who are the enemies of Allah? The enemies of Allah can be known by knowing the awliya (close friends of Allah), and the awliya of Allah the Exalted, Allah said in explaining them:
(62) Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve (63) Those who believed and were fearing Allah ألا إن أولياء الله لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون * الذين آمنوا وكانوا يتقون
[Yunus 10:62-63]
The opposite of faith is disbelief, and the opposite of taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is sins and open sinfulness, so the enemies of Allah are the disbelievers and the open sinners. They are driven to the Fire, meaning they are driven to it and gathered to it.
to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows, إلى النار فهم يُوزَعُون
[Fussilat 41:19]
The author says: " they are driven ", and it has another meaning as well: they are driven for distribution, meaning that they are groups and nations, and whenever a nation enters, it curses its sister, so they are distributed by being driven, meaning they are driven and distributed also by being separated, each nation alone.
and they are distributed فهم يوزعون
