Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: “Indeed, those who transgress” from the root *al-hada* and *l-h-d* “in Our verses” the Qur’an by denying them “they will not be hidden from Us”

Then He said, (Exalted and Majestic is He):[Fussilat 41:40] The exegete says:"from al-ahad and lahada"from becomes yulhidun and yalhadun, and the origin of al-lahd or al-ilhad is al-mayl (inclination), and from this al-lahd was named a lahda (grave niche) because of its inclination to the side of the grave, so where is this root taken from? From al-mayl (inclination), so the meaning is where is it taken from? From al-mayl (inclination), so the meaning is that they incline in them, and the plural of ayah (verse), and the verses of Allah the Exalted are divided into two categories:
Legislative verses, which are the revelation sent down upon the prophets and messengers, and cosmic verses, which are all created things; every created thing is a cosmic verse pointing to its Creator and Maker. In this regard, the truthful poet said:
How astonishing it is that the Divine is disobeyed, or how the denier denies Him
And in every thing there is a sign of His, pointing to the fact that He is One
Every created thing is a sign among the signs of Allah. So, the verses are of two types: cosmic, which are all created things, and legislative, which is the revelation sent down upon the messengers, (peace be upon them). Now, transgression in the cosmic verses occurs through one of three things: either by attributing them to other than Allah, or by believing in a partner for Allah in them, or by believing in a helper for Allah in them. How many are these? Three: the first is attributing them to other than Allah, so one might say, for example, “The one who created the sky is natural force.” This is transgression in the cosmic verses. Or believing in a partner for Allah in them, such as saying, “The one who manages the universe is Allah and so-and-so the Imam,” as some of the Rafidah say. The third is believing in a helper for Allah in them, meaning as if Allah was unable to establish the heavens and the earth, so another helped Him. This is the transgression in the cosmic signs of Allah. To this points the saying of Allah, (Glorified and Exalted is He):[Saba 34:22] He denied all three: [Saba 34:22] in terms of independence, [Saba 34:22] in terms of partnership, and meaning what belongs to Allah, [Saba 34:22] meaning a helper. Once again, we say: What is transgression in the cosmic verses, Ya Salih?
The student: Either by attributing them to other than Allah, or believing in a partner for Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), or believing in a helper for Allah.
The Shaykh : Either by attributing them to other than Allah, or believing in a partner for Allah in them, or believing in a helper for Allah in them. All of this is transgression. As for the legislative verses, we said that they are what was sent down of revelation upon the messengers of Allah. Transgression in them occurs by denying them, distorting them, and opposing them. This is also in three ways: by denying them, distorting them, or opposing them. This is transgression in the legislative verses. So, whoever denies and says, for example, that no revelation was sent down to Muhammad, (peace and blessings be upon him), but rather he is taught by a human, is a transgressor. And whoever distorts them, changing their meaning or their wording, is a transgressor, because distortion can be in wording or in meaning. The third is whoever opposes them; so whoever disobeys Allah is a transgressor, but not the kind of transgression we understand as leaving the religion; rather, he is a transgressor to the extent of the disobedience and opposition he committed. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah, (Glorified and Exalted is He):[Al-Hajj 22:25] This evidence is textual. The rational evidence is that we said transgression in language means inclination, and the sinner who opposes the commands is certainly inclined. Transgression in the legislative verses is, my brother...
The student: Three.
The Shaykh : By three, or by one of three?
The student: By one of three: either by denying them, distorting them, or opposing them.
The Shaykh : Perfect. Now, as for those who transgress in this or that, Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), says:[Fussilat 41:40] This is a negative attribute. Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), denied that these people would be hidden from Him because of the perfection of His knowledge. Know that there is no pure negation in the attributes of Allah; rather, everything that Allah denies of Himself includes perfection and affirmation. Let this be a rule for you; do not neglect it. There is no pure negation in the attributes of Allah; rather, everything that Allah denies of Himself includes perfection. For example, [Fussilat 41:40] Why? Because of the perfection of His knowledge, for Allah, (the Exalted), is perfect in knowledge and encompassing of everything. [Az-Zukhruf 43:80] So, means that their state and their identities are not hidden from Us because of the perfection of knowledge. The intended meaning of this phrase is a threat, just as you might say to your son: “My son, go where you wish, for you are not hidden from me; your actions are not hidden from me.” So, the intended meaning is a threat, and it is the utmost in threat. For if Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), says: [Fussilat 41:40] then the limbs will tremble from this warning. Then He said: [Fussilat 41:40] so We will punish them. The author, (may Allah have mercy on him), says: the Qur’an by denying it.” There is a deficiency in the author’s interpretation: First, he made the verses here legislative verses, and this is an error; the verses are broader. Second, he did not make transgression in the legislative verses except by one type of transgression, which is denial, whereas we said that transgression in them occurs by one of three things: either denial, distortion, or opposition. Now...
Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses are not concealed from Us
