Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author said: "It contains issues:
The first: Exegesis of the verse"
Which verse?
until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], "What has your Lord said?" They will say, "The truth." حَتَّى إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ قالوا ماذا قال ربكم قال الحق
[Saba 34:23]
We begin now with its exegesis, ... What is the meaning of "fuzza'a" (fear was removed)? Muhammad.
The student: Fear was removed from them.

The Shaykh : Was it removed or was it made to be removed?
The student: It was made to be removed.

The Shaykh : Yes... passive voice, the fear was removed from them. And the pronoun in His saying:
From their hearts عن قلوبهم
refers to whom?
The student: The angels.

The Shaykh : And where is the answer to "idha" (when) 'Abd al-Rahman?
when terror is removed from their hearts إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ
[Saba 34:23]

The student: The pronoun in "qalu" (they said).

The Shaykh : The pronoun in
"What has your Lord said?" قالوا ماذا قال ربكم
[Saba 34:23]
Yes, and His saying:
They said, "The truth" قالوا الحق
"The truth" for the honor of the truth, 'Abd Allah, where is the governing word? Good, the governing word here is
The student: "Qalu" (they said).

The Shaykh : "Qalu" (they said), good. And is it necessary that what 'Abd Allah said is an object, or is there another aspect to it?
The student: Not in the accusative case, meaning?

The Shaykh : No, it is in the accusative case. Who knows?
The student: His saying: "The truth was said."

The Shaykh : Correct... an absolute object, meaning they said the word of truth. Yes, and what is the meaning of "al-'Ali" (the Most High)? 'Isa.
The student: The Most High.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: The One who is exalted.

The Shaykh : Meaning the One who possesses exaltation?
The student: The One who possesses exaltation.

The Shaykh : Good, and what is exaltation? Exaltation of the Self or exaltation of the attributes?
The student: All of it.

The Shaykh : All of it, exaltation of the Self and exaltation of the attributes. Good, this is the exegesis of the verse.
"The second: The argument contained therein for refuting shirk (associating partners with Allah), especially that which is attached to the righteous"
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Especially that which is, that which is
The student: That which is

The Shaykh : That which is attached
The student: That which is attached to the righteous

The Shaykh : To the righteous, not from, not from, not from. If he said "that which is attached to the righteous," there is no harm. Good, the argument for refuting shirk, especially that which is attached to the righteous, where is this argument taken from?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Where is this argument taken from?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, correct. If the angels, who are who they are in strength and greatness, are struck unconscious and fear is removed from their hearts, then this is proof of the greatness of the Creator, (Glorified and Exalted is He), and that these idols which are worshipped besides Allah are far less than the angels. So how can a person attach himself to them? Good, and it is the verse that was said to cut the roots of the tree of shirk from the heart. This verse is said to be the one that cuts the roots of the tree of shirk from the heart. And that is because when you know the greatness of the Lord, (Glorified and Exalted is He), and that all the heavens tremble and their inhabitants are struck unconscious merely because He spoke with the revelation, (Exalted and Majestic is He), yes, how can a person associate with Allah a created thing, perhaps one he makes with his own hand, until the ignorant Arabs used to say they make a god from dates, and if it gets hungry, they eat it, yes. And one of them would go down to the valley and take four stones, look at the best and smoothest of them, and make it his god, and the other three as its brothers, placing them under the pot. How can these things be a partner with Allah, who has this immense greatness? "The third: Exegesis of His saying:
They will say, "The truth." And He is the Most High, the Grand. قالوا الحق وهو العلي الكبير
[Saba 34:23]
"
We explained this a little while ago and clarified its grammar and meaning.
"The fourth: The reason for their asking about it" About what did Allah say? And what is the reason they are asking? What did their Lord say? Why are the angels asking what their Lord said?
The student: They want to remember...

The Shaykh : And other
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Fear that He may have ordered their punishment or their rebuke or something similar. Yes, out of the intensity of their fear and awe of Allah, they asked what He said, fearing that He may have said about them something they cannot bear.
"The fifth: That Jibril is the one who answers them after that with his saying:
He said such and such. قال كذا وكذا
"
What does he say?
The student: He said the truth.

The Shaykh : He says "He said the truth," clarifying that what He, (Glorified and Exalted is He), said is the truth. The sixth.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : No, no, if that is his intention, it is not correct. This is the apparent meaning of his words, but it is not correct.
"The sixth: Mentioning that the first to raise his head is Jibril" This is in which of the two hadiths?
The student: The second.

The Shaykh : The second. And what does it indicate?
The student: It indicates his virtue.

The Shaykh : It indicates his virtue, yes.
