Burying the deceased at night is permissible

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it permissible to bury the deceased at night?

A: It is permissible if his family is able to wash him, shroud him, and pray over him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) buried some of the deceased at night, and he himself was buried at night (peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, al-Siddiq, 'Umar, and 'Uthman were all buried at night. This establishes the permissibility of burying the deceased at night, provided that the prescribed matters are fulfilled.
As for what is reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the prohibition of burial at night, the scholars understand this to apply when burial at night leads to the failure to perform the obligatory duties toward the deceased. For this reason, it is established in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Jabir ibn 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade burying a man at night until the funeral prayer is performed over him. This indicates that if the funeral prayer has been performed over the deceased, it is permissible to bury him at night. And success is from Allah.
