The Sunnah for one who follows the funeral prayer is not to sit until it is placed on the ground

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the Sunnah for one who follows the funeral prayer?

A: The Sunnah for one who follows the funeral prayer is not to sit until it is placed from the shoulders of the men onto the ground. As for leaving, what is prescribed for the one who follows it is not to leave until it is placed in the grave and the burial is completed. This is all on the basis of recommendation, but it is better for the one following the funeral prayer not to leave until the burial is finished so that he may complete both rewards: the reward for the prayer and the reward for following, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Al-Bukhari related on the authority of Abu Hurairah, “Whoever accompanies the funeral of a Muslim, seeking the reward only from Allah, the Almighty, and he stays with it until he offers the funeral prayer and the burial is completed, will return back with two Qirat, each Qirat is equal to the mount of Uhud.”من تبع جنازة مسلم فكان معها حتى يصلى عليها ويفرغ من دفنها فإنه يرجع بقيراطين، كل قيراط مثل جبل أحد
Bulugh al-Maram 569
It was narrated by al-Bukhari in his Sahih.
