Question: Abu Sami from Hail says: We have an imam of the Grand Mosque who repeats to the people: If one travels in Ramadan and breaks his fast, he has two rewards: the reward of taking the dispensation, and the reward of making up the fast. Answer: One who is ill or travels may break his fast, and indeed it is recommended for him to do so, based on the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) : [Surat al-Baqarah: 185].
And the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Bulugh al-Maram 2:341. On the condition that it is difficult for the sick person to fast; as for if it is not difficult for him, then it is not permissible for him to break his fast, because he is not considered to have an excuse. And success is from Allah.
