The Shaykh : For that reason, meaning for the sake of respecting the names of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), the name is changed to a permissible, lawful name. Likewise, it is recommended to change the name to something better if it contains something that is not appropriate, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed some names to permissible things. The name should be changed if it leads to something that is not appropriate. There is no need to change the name, nor is there any need to repeat the 'aqiqah sacrifice when changing the name, as some of the common people say. They say, "If you change the name, repeat the 'aqiqah," as if they believe the name is linked to the 'aqiqah. For this reason, they ask, "Why did you change your name and not slaughter a sacrificial animal?" This has no basis. Then he said: Choosing "Third: Choosing the eldest son for the kunya". Where is this taken from? From the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) question to a man: "Who is your eldest son?" He said, "Shurayh." He said, "Then you are Abu Shurayh." One should choose the kunya based on his eldest son, because if he took a kunya from someone younger, it would cause some feeling in his heart. Also, his eldest son is the first to be born, so he takes his kunya from him. Thus, the benefit of taking a kunya from the eldest child, or it has two benefits:
The first benefit is that he is the first to be born, so one should take his kunya from him.
The second is that if he took a kunya from someone younger, there would be something in the heart of the eldest. Matters like this are subtle, and this feeling in his heart may lead to him not being dutiful to his father, which would be harmful to him and to his father. Yes. Is it taken from this chapter that taking a kunya is recommended? Consider.
The student: No, it is not taken.

The Shaykh : It appears that it is not taken, because this man had already taken a kunya, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to change the kunya to a permissible one. It does not mean that the Messenger commanded him to take a kunya initially. So it appears that it is not taken from this that taking a kunya is recommended, and if a person remains without a kunya, there is no blame on him.
And is it taken from this that it is recommended for a teacher or advisor, if he closes a door, to open another door?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes. Likewise, it is recommended for those who preach, guide, and advise that if they close the forbidden doors, they should open permissible doors so that people can enter and proceed. As for blocking the path in front of them and then not opening a path for them, that is not appropriate. Yes.
