The benefits of faith in divine decree?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Faith in divine decree has benefits, which we will mention, even though the author did not mention them.
Faith in divine decree has benefits:
One of them is that it is part of the completion of faith, and faith is not complete without it.
Another is that it is part of the completion of faith in oneness of lordship, because if you believe in the decree of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), then the decree of Allah is among His actions and judgments, so this falls under the category of completing faith in oneness of lordship.
Among its benefits as well—among the benefits of faith in divine decree—is that a person turns back to his Lord, because if he knows that everything is by His decree and destiny, he will turn to Allah. If hardship befalls him, he turns to Allah the Exalted to remove it and lift it. If ease befalls him, he attributes it to Allah and knows that it is from the favor of Allah upon him.
Among the benefits of faith in divine decree is that a person knows his own worth and does not boast when he does good, is that not so? Because if he knows that Allah is the One who decreed it, he says, "Then this is not from me; this is from Allah, this is from His favor, this is from His blessing, this is from His grace." But the one who does not believe in divine decree, what does he say? He says, "This is from me; I achieved it with my hands, I achieved it through my effort," and the like of that.
Fifth: Among the benefits of faith in divine decree is that it makes calamities easy for the servant, because if a person knows that they are from Allah, they become easy for him; the calamity becomes easy for him. As Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart وَمَنْ يُؤْمِنْ بِاللَّهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُ
[At-Taghabun 64:11]
.
'Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "He is the man whom a calamity befalls, and he knows that it is from Allah, so he is pleased and submits."
Sixth: Attributing blessings to their bestower, because if you do not believe in divine decree, you attribute blessings to the one who directly bestowed the favor and forget the First. An example of this is: a man gives you a gift or presents you with a present. If you believe in divine decree, you will say that the One who caused him to give it to me is Allah (Mighty and Majestic), so you attribute the blessing to whom? To Allah (Mighty and Majestic), to its bestower, and you say, "This man is nothing but a path." But the one who does not believe in divine decree relies on material causes and sees all the merit as belonging to the one who bestowed this good or this gift upon him. This is often found among those who seek to ingratiate themselves with kings, presidents, and ministers. You find that when the king, president, or minister gives him a gift, he forgets that Allah is the One who made him available to give it, and he makes the greatest blessing and favor belong to whom? To this giver, to this giver. But if he believes in divine decree, he attributes the blessing to its bestower, (Mighty and Majestic), not to this man.
It is true that it is obligatory for a person to thank people, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
if anyone does you a kindness, recompense him من صنع إليكم معروفاً، فكافئوه
Sunan Abi Dawud 1672Sahih (Al-Albani)
. But he knows that the original source, the whole original source, is Allah (Mighty and Majestic), or it is the favor of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that He placed in the hands of this man. Yes, indeed.
Likewise, among the benefits of faith in divine decree is that a person knows thereby the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because if he looks at this universe and the amazing changes that occur in it, of ease and hardship, drought and abundance, and the like, he knows thereby the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Unlike the one who forgets divine decree and destiny, who does not benefit from this benefit.
So these are the six benefits, and with reflection, they may increase beyond this, all of which are among the benefits of faith in divine decree.
