The Shaykh :"And they enjoin noble morals and forbid base ones" This is a general statement. All high morals are enjoined by the people of the Sunnah and the community, and the base, despicable things are forbidden. Then he said: "And whatever they say and do of this and other things, they are only following the Book and the Sunnah in them, and their way is the religion of Islam with which Allah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)".
Whatever the people of the Sunnah and the community say and do of this and other things, they are only following the Book and the Sunnah in them. This is a matter that one should be mindful of: that we should be aware that in everything we say and everything we do, we follow the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) with sincerity to Allah, so that all our words and deeds, all of them, become worship for Allah. So we have passed through much saying that the worship of the heedless is what? It is habits, and the habits of the mindful are worship.
So the successful, mindful person can turn habits into worship, while the heedless person makes his worship into habits, doing them out of habit. So strive, may Allah bless you, to make all your words and deeds, all of them, follow the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), so that you may attain reward thereby and achieve the perfection of faith and turning back to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Do not do these actions merely as actions required of you; this is certainly a way to clear one's conscience, but it does not lead to the growth of faith. Rather, do them while believing that you are following the Book and the Sunnah. You will find in this an increase in faith and training of the soul. How often we are heedless! We do most of these things as if they are merely required of us as a religion... as if we are not doing them as worship that trains our hearts and grows our faith, and we believe that in them we are sincere to Allah and following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). This is a matter that a person should always remind himself of, so that he does not become one of the heedless. And Allah knows best.
Among the characteristics of the people of the Sunnah and the community is that they enjoined good neighborliness. We mentioned that there are three types of neighbors: a close Muslim neighbor, who has three rights: the right of neighborliness, the right of kinship, and the right of Islam; a Muslim neighbor who is not a relative, who has two rights: the right of neighborliness and the right of Islam; and a non-Muslim neighbor who is not a relative, who has one right: the right of neighborliness. It was also mentioned that they enjoined kindness to orphans, the poor, and travelers, because these people have deficiencies that need to be compensated for by kindness to them. Orphans are those whose fathers died before they reached maturity, the poor are the destitute, and travelers are those who are journeying. They also enjoined gentleness with slaves, whether human or animal. They also forbade boasting and arrogance. The difference between boasting and arrogance is that boasting is with the tongue and arrogance is with actions. Aggression is transgressing against people.[Ash-Shuraa 42:42] So aggression is transgressing against people, and arrogance is elevating oneself above creation, whether with a right, such as a person having a high status in prestige, wealth, knowledge, or otherwise, or without a right.
So likewise, they generally enjoin noble morals and forbid base ones. Noble morals include every high moral trait, such as generosity, courage, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and others. And the base is what is contrary to the noble. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned...
