Continuation of the discussion from the chapter on *dhan* and its cognates.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : For example:
"Thus I was taught until it became part of my nature that I found the key of good character to be good manners"
"Thus I was taught until it became part of my nature that I found the key of good character to be good manners"
This is Arabic speech. If it were not Arabic, we would say it is an error and that one must say: "I found the key of good character to be good manners" (with the accusative case). But an Arab says: "I found the key of good character to be good manners."
They said, "So we cannot tell an Arab that he made a mistake, because the speech of the Arabs in grammar is in the position of evidence in legal rulings. If the evidence contradicts our minds, it must be distorted; it must be distorted. If the speech of the Arabs contradicts our minds and what we have established, we must distort it; we must interpret it figuratively."
