Discussion on which is better: compliance or etiquette?

The Shaykh : So we say: The scholars have differed on this. If there is a command from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding something, and the etiquette that appears to us is not to comply with the Prophetic command, which is better: compliance or etiquette?
So I say now, changing the first phrase: all roads lead to the mill. Compliance is etiquette, and not complying is a lack of etiquette. We will mention this to you, if Allah wills, after you have finished your meal.
