Review of what has been covered regarding the rulings on omitting the qualifier and placing the qualified noun in its stead.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If the qualifier is omitted, the qualified noun takes its place, such as His saying, the Exalted:
And their hearts absorbed [the worship of] the calf وَأُشْرِبُوا فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:93]
May Allah remind me tomorrow. Tomorrow, after tomorrow, we will discuss the brothers who stand up after the adhan for a while, after, because I fear they will not catch the other congregation.
The student: We have already reached a conclusion.

The Shaykh : Yes?
The student: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah is explicit and clear.
Another student: The issue was raised, and we have not reached a conclusion.

The Shaykh : No, no, we must, if Allah wills, look into it, because right now, from the day the adhan was called, they went, perhaps we can say they pray in another mosque, and some scholars have permitted that, but if the time has ended, the issue does not hold.
Now, give an example of that with His saying, the Exalted:
And their hearts absorbed [the worship of] the calf وَأُشْرِبُوا فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:93]
And their hearts absorbed [the worship of] the calf وَأُشْرِبُوا فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:93]

The student: Love.

The Shaykh : Love of the calf or love of worshipping the calf; the omitted part is two things or one thing, so the omitted part is two things, whereas if it is assumed to be love of the calf, it is one thing, but the reality of the matter is that the omitted part is two things, because what was imbibed in their hearts, what is it? The calf itself that they eat? No, because it is gone, but love of worshipping the calf.
The student: They did not worship it except out of love.

The Shaykh : Yes, they are all implied; they had imbibed in their hearts the love of worshipping the calf. In any case, whether the assumed part is one, two, or more, according to what the context requires, the qualifier is omitted and the qualified noun remains, declined according to its case: if it is nominative, it is nominative; if it is accusative, it is accusative; or if it is genitive, it is genitive, but the genitive case does not show its effect because the qualified noun is genitive.
