The ruling on one who does something that breaks the fast while forgetting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is the ruling on one who eats or drinks during the day in Ramadan while forgetting?

Answer: There is no harm on him, and his fast is valid; for Allah the Exalted said at the end of Surat al-Baqarah:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[al-Baqarah:286] And it is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah the Exalted said:
He has done soقد فعلت
And it is established from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
If anyone forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks he should complete his fast, for it is only Allah Who has fed him and given him drink.من نسي وهو صائم فأكل أو شرب فليتم صومه، فإنما أطعمه الله وسقاه
Sahih Muslim 1155
It is agreed upon that it is authentic.
