The ruling on stoning the pillars after the afternoon prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I have daughters who are performing their obligatory Hajj this year. Is it permissible for them to stone the Jamrat al-Aqabah after the afternoon prayer, out of fear of the crowd?
Answer: If they stone on the day of Eid after the afternoon prayer, there is nothing wrong with it; because on the day of Eid, stoning is permissible throughout the day. It is also permissible to stone at night after the sun sets on the night of the eleventh, for the day of Eid, for the Jamrat al-Aqabah, for one who did not stone it during the day, according to the more correct of the two opinions of the scholars. Likewise, it is permissible to stone on the eleventh and twelfth days at night for one who was not able to stone during the day after the sun passes its zenith.
As for the thirteenth day, stoning in it ends with the setting of the sun. And it is not permissible to stone on the three days before the sun passes its zenith on the eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth days, according to the majority of the scholars of knowledge, and this is the truth in which there is no doubt; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only stoned after the sun passed its zenith on the three days mentioned, and so did his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) . And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the Muslims to follow him in this, just as it is obligatory to follow him in everything that Allah has prescribed, and in leaving off everything that Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) have forbidden; due to the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) : [Al-Hashr: 7], and His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He) : [Al-Ahzab: 21]. And the verses in this meaning are many. And success is from Allah.
