The ruling on one who intends to perform Hajj while outside the miqat, and whose family is in Jeddah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I am a student studying in the Eastern Region, and my family is in Jeddah. I want to perform Hajj. From where should I enter the state of ihram? From al-Qarn al-Manazil, or from my residence in Jeddah?

Answer: You have a choice, as long as you are a resident of Jeddah, which is before the miqat. If you enter the state of ihram from al-Qarn al-Manazil, that is better and more appropriate, because you are a visitor and you have adopted the most complete and most cautious course. If you intend to visit your family and then enter the state of ihram from there, there is nothing wrong with that.
