All the days of the festival are days of slaughter, and the best of them is the Day of Sacrifice

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I want to offer a sacrifice, if Allah wills. Is it permissible for me to delay it until the eleventh day, or the twelfth day? And is the sacrificial animal slaughtered in Mina, or in any part of Makkah? And what is the method of distributing it?

Answer: It is permissible to slaughter the sacrificial animal on the Day of Sacrifice and on the three days following it, but slaughtering it on the Day of Sacrifice is better if that is feasible. There is no blame on slaughtering it in Mina or in Makkah. The recommended practice regarding its distribution, meaning the sacrificial animal of tamattu' or qiran, is that one should eat from it, give charity from it, and gift it to whomever one wishes from his companions and brothers.
