It is not permissible to wear clothes that reveal the skin

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: His Eminence the Shaykh, Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz (may Allah preserve him)
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
I am a married woman who sometimes wears light clothing that reveals the skin, or short clothing that shows what is above the knee when I sit, in order to facilitate movement while doing household chores, to relieve the intensity of the heat, and to adorn myself before my husband. However, my husband advised me not to wear such clothes because of our children, who are between 3 and 9 years old, and out of fear that the scenes they see now will not be erased from their memories when they grow up. But I did not accept his advice on the basis that our children are still young and that there is no fear of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) for them.
Since this matter has occupied my thoughts, and desiring to please my Lord and not anger Him, I wrote to you hoping for clarification of the Shari'ah ruling in this matter and guidance as you see fit. Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings.

Answer: And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
It is not permissible for you to wear thin clothes that reveal the 'awrah (the part of the body that must be covered), even if no one is present with you, and likewise short clothing that is above the knee. It is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he prohibited that and said:
Allah is more entitled than people that bashfulness should be shown to him.الله أحق أن يستحيا منه من الناس
Sunan Abi Dawud 4017Hasan (Al-Albani)
May Allah guide them all.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
