Returning the money to the heirs of the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I am a man who acquired money through an unlawful means, and I have now repented from that. What is my obligation regarding this money that I collected, especially since it is impossible for me to return the money to its owners because they have died? And how do I give it in charity if the recipient knows that this money is forbidden? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer: It is obligatory for you to return the money to the heirs of the deceased if he has heirs; as for if he has no heirs, or if you do not know them, then you give it in charity to the poor on behalf of his family without informing them of the source of the money, and your conscience is cleared with repentance, and praise be to Allah.
