The ruling on one who owed money to a person, and the owner of the money passed away

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
An Egyptian citizen named Husayn 'Abd al-Hamid sent a message saying: I have an uncle who passed away, and I owe him one thousand five hundred pounds. How should I deal with this amount? Should I give it in charity? Or perform Hajj on his behalf? Or hand it over to the heirs? Or how do you direct me? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: You must hand it over to the heirs. If a person dies and he has a debt with people, it is obligatory for the one who holds the debt to hand over the debt he holds to the heirs. This is obligatory upon him. Whoever has a debt belonging to someone must hand it over to his heirs when he dies. He must not conceal it or give it in charity, but rather give it to the heirs. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
