Divorce for compensation is considered a minor final divorce

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is the ruling on taking back a divorced wife for compensation?
Answer: From 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abdullah ibn Baz to the honorable brother, the virtuous Shaykh Mus'ad, Head of the Courts of the Northern Borders, may Allah guide him to all good. Amen.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings:
After that, O beloved: Your noble letter, number (2141), dated 17/8/1398 AH, has arrived, may Allah guide you. The question it contained regarding the permissibility of taking back a divorced wife for compensation was already known.
I inform you that divorce for compensation is considered a minor final divorce (baynuna saghara), with which the divorcer does not have the right to take her back. However, it is permissible for him to return to her through a new marriage with its conditions considered valid by the Shari'ah, provided he had not previously divorced her twice.
May Allah guide everyone to understanding the religion and steadfastness upon it, and may peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you.
