The ruling on one who divorced his wife in exchange for compensation and did not consummate the marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Regarding the ruling on the issue of a man who married a woman but did not consummate the marriage, then divorced her in exchange for compensation, and then married her again afterwards...?

Answer: From Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz to the honorable brother, may Allah guide him to all good, amen.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings:
After that, O beloved, your noble letter dated 28/7/1388 AH has arrived, may Allah guide you. The question it contained regarding the ruling on the issue of a man who married a woman but did not consummate the marriage, then divorced her in exchange for compensation, and then married her again afterwards... up to the end of what you mentioned in your letter, was it known?
The answer: If the situation is as you described, there is nothing wrong with his returning to her through a new marriage with its conditions considered valid by the Shari'ah, while taking into account that the previous divorce counts against him.
As for the dream you saw, no ruling is established based on it; rather, it is from Satan's distressing and playing with people. It is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan. So if one of you sees something he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times, let he seek refuge in Allah from the evil of what he saw and from Satan, then let him turn over to his other side, for it will not harm him.
May Allah guide everyone to understanding in the religion and steadfastness upon it, for He is Generous and Noble.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
