Ruling on a menstruating woman reciting the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
(The menstruating woman) reciting her daily portion and reviewing the Qur'an?

Answer:
Reciting her daily portion is permissible, but she should not recite the Qur'an; rather, she should recite her daily portion from other than the Qur'an. If she recites from her memory without touching the mushaf, there is no harm; the correct view is that there is no harm provided she does not touch the mushaf.
Q: Does she recite from memory?
The Shaykh: Reciting from memory is permissible; there is no evidence prohibiting it, because the duration of menstruation is long; it is not like the state of major ritual impurity, which is prolonged, and post-natal bleeding is likewise. So if she recites, there is no harm according to the correct view, but not from the mushaf. However, if she reviews the mushaf for some verses without a barrier, or through gloves out of necessity, there is no harm.
