The ruling on saying "Marhaban" after the greeting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Saying "Marhaban" after the greeting?

Answer:
Yes, after the greeting, and after the response, yes.
Q: Is there in the hadith anything indicating that he greeted and then said: Marhaban?
The Shaykh: No, acting in accordance with the principle. The principle is as Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than itوَإِذَا حُيِّيتُمْ بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّوا بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا
[Al-Nisa: 86]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And upon youوعليكم
So it is necessary that he do what the people were commanded to do, peace and blessings be upon him.
