The student’s remarks on Ibn Hazm’s fatwa regarding fourteen rounds of sa'y and his not having heard of al-Jami' al-Tirmidhi.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: One of the brothers, a guide, issued a fatwa to a caravan that the tawaf between al-Safa and al-Marwah is fourteen rounds.
Another student: ...
The student: Yes, he adopted the opinion of Ibn Hazm. I and the doctor were here; he was in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, his name was Dr. Nu'man Abu al-Layl. His father and mother came to perform Hajj. When they returned, they said, "We performed fourteen rounds of tawaf. We started with al-Safa and ended with al-Safa." They were men, very old people in age. He said, "Until the very end, we could not move; that is, all of us were crawling." He says, "We were crawling, crawling." This is adopting the opinion of Ibn Hazm in this matter. It appears to me that Ibn Hazm did not even perform Hajj, and Allah knows best.
Another student: He did not perform Hajj.
The student: He did not perform Hajj.
Another student: He did not come to the East at all.
The student: And he did not come to the East.
Another student: He did not even hear of the book of al-Tirmidhi.

The Shaykh: The book.
The student: Al-Jami' of al-Tirmidhi; Muhammad ibn Hazm did not hear of it. Ah, Ibn Hazm is Abu Hamid al-Ghazali. He says about him, "I read a book by Ibn Hazm on the names and attributes, and I knew that this man was a scholar and a memorizer. I have not passed by a scholar like him in his memorization and precision of his memorization." Yes.
Another student: Oh...
The student: Yes.
Another student: It seems he agreed with him regarding the attributes.
