The ruling on praying on a cushion with a cross design

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Praying on a cushion with a cross design?

Answer:
As for the crosses, they must be removed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he saw something with a cross, would remove it, as Aisha reported. It is removed by placing something over it or by altering its image so that it no longer resembles a cross, by cutting a part of it; based on Aisha’s statement: “The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never saw anything in the house with a cross on it but he would remove it,” and in another version: “but he would alter it.” This is because the image of the cross is an object of worship other than Allah.
