The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, 'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us from Anas, who said:
I was riding behind Abu Talhah on the day of Khaybar, and my foot was touching the foot of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: We came upon them when the sun had risen, and they had taken out their livestock and had come out with their axes, their baskets, and their spades. They said: Muhammad and the Friday. He said: And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Khaybar is ruined. Indeed, when we descend upon a people's camp, the morning of the warned ones is bad. He said: So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) defeated them.
كُنْتُ رِدْفَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَقَدَمِي تَمَسُّ قَدَمَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : فَأَتَيْنَاهُمْ حِينَ بَزَغَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَقَدْ أَخْرَجُوا مَوَاشِيَهُمْ، وَخَرَجُوا بِفُؤُوسِهِمْ، وَمَكَاتِلِهِمْ، وَمُرُورِهِمْ، فَقَالُوا : مُحَمَّدٌ وَالْخَمِيسَ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ، إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ . قَالَ : فَهَزَمَهُمُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
