The reciter: And Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Shababah narrated to us, saying: Sulayman narrated from Thabit from Anas. And Abdullah ibn Hashim ibn Hayyan narrated it to me, and the wording is his, saying: Bahz narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated from Thabit, saying: Anas narrated to us, saying:
Safiyyah became Duhayyah’s share in the distribution of the captives, and they began to praise her in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: We have not seen among the captives anyone like her. He said: So he sent for Duhayyah and gave him what he desired for her, then he handed her over to my mother and said: Prepare her. He said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from Khaybar, and when he had placed her on his mount, he dismounted and then erected a tent over her. When morning came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has extra provisions, let him bring them to us. He said: So the men began to come with extra dates and extra flour, until they made from them a black mixture of hais. They began to eat from that hais and drink from pools beside them of rainwater. He said: Anas said: So that was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for her. He said: So we set out, and when we saw the walls of the city, we were eager to reach it. We raised our mounts, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his mount. Safiyyah was behind him, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had placed her as a passenger behind him. The mount of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stumbled, and he fell and she fell. No one among the people looked at him or at her until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and covered her. We came to him, and he said: We have not been harmed. We entered the city, and the young women of his wives came out to look at her and to gloat over her fall.
