A man who earned haram money in America and returned to the Muslim country, having fifteen thousand dollars left with him and nothing else, is it halal for him or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: What I want to know is whether this money is halal or not?

The Shaykh: Do you know, do you know, hehehe.

The questioner: I mean, in America they made it halal for me, they said: You repented, so Allah accepted your repentance. Here, they also made it halal for me, and some people forbade it. The point is, if I want to throw this money away, I will be left with nothing, meaning I am finished, I will be left with no money. So I went to Shaykh Saleh yesterday at the mosque, and he said to me: What are you doing? You are leaving this money to start a project, but you take out this value, you distribute this money, and you keep this value.

The Shaykh: They say about us in Syria: "Call it unemployment," do you understand?

The questioner : No.

The Shaykh: "Call it unemployment" means that what is built upon a fasid (defective) foundation is fasid (defective).

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh: And upon you be peace. What is built upon haram is haram. It should be spent on public facilities. It is not permissible to ride on it and benefit from it, and then compensate.

The questioner: The capital?

The Shaykh: Okay, is it not khabeeth (evil)?

The questioner: The capital, no, the capital is my effort, the capital was not one dinar, my effort means I did not get this amount in one day.

The Shaykh: Never mind, the capital which is six hundred dinars!

The questioner: One hundred dinars!

The Shaykh: One hundred?

The questioner: There is no capital!

The Shaykh: Never mind, okay, is it not khabeeth (evil)?

The questioner: All right.

The Shaykh: Then
But if you repent, you may have your principal وَإِنْ تُبْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ رُءُوسُ أَمْوَالِكُمْ
[Al-Baqarah 2:279]
.

The questioner: Okay, and the money you spent, O Shaykh? The money you spent was close to half a million dollars or more, or seven hundred thousand?!

Another questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh: And upon you peace.

The Shaykh: The repentance of Ayyub (peace be upon him) requires a sincere repentance.
