Continuation of the explanation of the author's statement: "… and whoever denies its obligation is a disbeliever …"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : There is no difference between the definitive matters in religion and the speculative matters in that a person is excused by ignorance in them. This is the case because the correct view is that a person is excused by ignorance, whether in matters of knowledge or matters of practice. If we wish, we can say, as most people of the principles of jurisprudence or the branches of jurisprudence have said, but let it be known that dividing religion into principles and branches is an innovation introduced by the theologians, as Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said, and the jurists accepted it from them. Otherwise, this does not exist in the Book or the Sunnah. I mean the division of religion into principles and branches. In it, there is also one who divided religion into something else, into the core and the husk. May Allah guide them and not make them among those who strip the husk or those who are stripped. This is a great danger because there are never any husks in religion. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who strips the husk and the one who is stripped. So, in any case, we say: if he denies its obligation, he is a disbeliever. And what is excluded from that? One who has recently converted from disbelief. This is known. And if clear, distinct knowledge is presented to him and he persists after that, he is a disbeliever.
