Reading the statement of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he transmitted: "

The reader: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: " From Abu Sa'id and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that.
Sahih al-Bukhari 5641, 5642
, Agreed upon.
And from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
I entered upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was suffering from a fever, and I said: O Messenger of Allah, you are suffering from a severe fever. He said: Yes, I am suffering from a fever as two of you would suffer. I said: Is that because you have two rewards? He said: Yes, that is so. No Muslim is afflicted with harm, from a thorn or greater, except that Allah expiates his evil deeds and removes his sins, just as a tree sheds its leaves
