The reader: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: "From Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who said:
Some Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Do you kiss your children? He said: Yes. They said: But, by Allah, we do not kiss them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Or do I have power over it if Allah has removed mercy from your hearts? قَدِم ناس من الأعراب على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالوا: أتقبِّلون صبيانكم فقال: نعم ، قالوا: لكنا والله ما نُقبِّل ، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : أوَ أَملك إن كان الله نزع من قلوبكم الرحمة

And from Jarir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever does not show mercy to the people, Allah will not show mercy to him. مَن لا يَرحم الناس لا يرحمْه الله

When you lead people in the prayer, make it short, because there are among them some people who are weak, ill and old. But when you pray on your own, make it as long as you wish. إذا صلى أحدكم للناس فليخفف، فإن فيهم الضعيف والسقيم والكبير، وإذا صلى أحدكم لنفسه، فليطول ما شاء
