Is it better to place children and boys in a separate row in congregational prayer, or should they pray with the men in the same row?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : To complete the benefit, if Allah wills, should we place the boys in a separate row now, even if it is not the first row?

The Shaykh : No, it is possible. The matter has become confused for you: I say that if there is a wide mosque, especially in the Fajr prayer or the 'Isha' prayer—which is the heaviest prayer for the hypocrites—the first row usually does not fill up. If some boys come and line up in the first row, we do not delay them, because in this case they do not push the men out of their position, which is the first row. However, if there are rows [already formed], they are delayed. This has been and remains my opinion.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
