Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: He said (may Allah have mercy on him): "The chapter on the severity of the punishment for one who enjoins good or forbids evil but contradicts his words with his actions. Allah the Exalted said:
Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason?
[Al-Baqarah 2:44]
And He said:
(2) O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? (3) Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.
[As-Saf 61:2-3]
And He said, reporting about Shu'ayb (peace be upon him):
And I do not intend to differ from you in that which I have forbidden you
[Hud 11:88]
