Ruling on changing the intention in Hajj from one type of pilgrimage to another

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for men in Hajj to change their intention after entering a specific type of pilgrimage to the intention of another type?

Answer:
According to the Shari'ah, if a person enters into Hajj or Hajj and 'Umrah, he may make them 'Umrah, and this is the recommended practice (sunnah); he dissolves them into 'Umrah. However, if he enters the state of ihram for 'Umrah, he may not switch from it, but he may add Hajj to it, thereby becoming one who combines them (qarin).
Q: If a person performed Hajj as a mutamatti', may he make the 'Umrah for one person and the Hajj for another?
A: Yes, there is nothing wrong with it. He declares his intention for 'Umrah for himself, and after exiting the state of ihram, he responds to the call for Hajj on behalf of his father, or his mother, or his wife.
Q: How is the dissolution from Hajj to 'Umrah done?
A: By intention.
Q: And the state of ihram?
A: He responded to the call for Hajj from the miqat, or for both Hajj and 'Umrah, and then when he arrived in Makkah, he made it 'Umrah; so he performed tawaf, sa'y, and shortened his hair or shaved it, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded them to do when they did not have a sacrificial animal with them.
