Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man entered the mosque while the imam was sitting in the tashahhud of the final rak'ah. He said the takbir with him and sat for the tashahhud. When he stood up to complete his prayer, he heard a congregation praying. Is it permissible for him to break off this prayer and join the congregation?

Answer:
He has a choice: if he wishes, he may break off and go to them, and if he wishes, he may complete it, for the sake of the issue of obtaining the congregation.
Q: And what is better?
A: If he breaks it off or turns it into a voluntary prayer, then goes and prays with them, that is good.
