The ruling on boycotting for a legitimate religious reason for more than three days

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If boycotting causes harm, does it fall under the hadith (prohibiting boycotting for more than three days)?

Answer:
No, no, this refers to boycotting for worldly matters, for their needs. As for boycotting for a religious matter, it does not fall under that prohibition. The one who does so is rewarded until the cause is removed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) boycotted Ka'b ibn Malik and his two companions for fifty nights until Allah accepted their repentance and they repented.
