Is the remembrance of Allah better than all other types of worship?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The hadith of Abu al-Darda' regarding the preference of the remembrance of Allah over many deeds: how is it to be understood? Some hadiths mention the preference of jihad.

Answer:
As Ibn al-Qayyim said, this applies to one who performs those deeds while being heedless of the remembrance of Allah. If he performs them while being heedless of the remembrance of Allah, then the one who remembers Allah is better than him. But if he performs them while remembering Allah and being sincere to Allah, then he is better, because he combined the two qualities.
