If Breastfeeding Is Forgotten, the Reference Is the Court

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I am an Egyptian citizen residing in Saudi Arabia, married for some time to my cousin’s daughter, and I have three children from her. My father and my relatives—such as my aunts, my father’s mother, and my paternal grandfather—told me three months ago that I was breastfed by my wife’s mother (my aunt) along with her son for a period of three months. Her son is currently deceased. My wife was two years old at the time I was breastfed by my aunt. My father and the aforementioned relatives have confirmed to me that I and my wife’s younger brother were breastfed by my aunt for a period of three months. However, my aunt—who is my wife’s mother—says that she breastfed me only twice. What should I do? I am now in a state of confusion.

Answer: We see that the wet nurse should be brought to the court to determine what testimony she has, and then the court will issue a ruling to you based on what it deems appropriate—if Allah wills—or it will write to the court, and I will look into the matter if Allah wills. May Allah guide them all.
