A man accidentally injured another in the face during a war that broke out between two tribes, and after some time had passed, he felt guilty. What is obligatory for him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We must know the nature of the wound he inflicted, and how that wound was. How was it in the battle? How was the wound?
The student : It was a war involving gunfire between tribes. This man wanted to frighten that one, but by Allah's decree, it hit this man, which he did not intend. He only wanted to frighten him, then by Allah's decree, this man was hit and wounded in the face, and then the perpetrator... After this, the nights and days passed, and this man began to feel this pain in his heart and asked the scholars. They told him that repentance is sufficient for you. So, until we brought this to you. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : It appears, and Allah knows best, that it is as those scholars said, because this is like the fitnah of the Khawarij. Do you understand? In such cases, the rulings that apply to wounds and blood money and the like do not apply. Is that clear?
The student : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : So the answer is the same, meaning...
The student : Meaning, this is the evidence: the issue of the Khawarij.

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed, it is this.
The student : May Allah reward you with good. May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : And may He reward you.
The student : May Allah bless the remainder of your life.

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you. Your supplications for those absent, if Allah wills.
